For more than 50 years, the American Heart Association has led the way in efforts to safeguard our children's cardiovascular health. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Fighting Blood Cancers: The Society's mission is to cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and Myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. March of Dimes Foundation March of Dimes : Our mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight. Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society : The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs. Sail Newport Sail Newport:  Rhode Island's Public Sailing Center. Their mission is to offer low cost, high quality sailing opportunities to the public. The Preservation Society of Newport County The Preservation Society of Newport County : A non-profit organization whose mission is to protect, preserve, and present an exceptional collection of house museums and landscapes in one of the most historically intact cities in America. Through our historic properties, educational programs, and related activities we engage the public in the story of America’s vibrant cultural heritage. The Junior League of Rhode Island, INC. The Junior League of Rhode Island : An organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.   Melanoma Foundation of New England The Melanoma Foundation of New England was founded in 1999 by Mel and Marilyn Rubin following the tragic loss of their son, Mark, to melanoma. The Foundation was created to combat the rising rate of melanoma and melanoma deaths. We provide a variety of educational programs targeting the prevention and early detection of skin cancer and melanoma for both children and adults. Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County Boys and Girls Clubs of Newport County: For more than 50 years, the Boys & Girls Club has provided quality, well-rounded programming to youth ages 5-18. Children and teens are engaged in a variety of age-appropriate activities that strengthen self-esteem, social skills, health, and community involvement.  We strive to incorporate learning and fun into everything that we do. Surfers Healing Foundation Surfers Healing was founded by Israel and Danielle Paskowitz.Their son, Isaiah, was diagnosed with autism at age three. Like many autistic children, he often suffered from sensory overload-- simple sensations could overwhelm him. The ocean was the one place where he seemed to find respite. Salve Regina University Vision of Mercy Endowed Scholarship New in 2009, the Vision of Mercy Scholarship was created by Dr. Virgina Walsh, RSM, and Dr. Johnelle Luciani, RSM, to recognize students who are committed to the materially poor, to peace and justice and to working with advocacy groups on behalf of underserved individuals, all in accordance with the mission of the Sisters of Mercy. Award recipients approach the materially poor and the underserved in the tradition of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy. Water for Cambodia Water for Cambodia takes a holistic approach to saving and bettering the lives of thousands of children in rural Cambodia.  We have adopted this simple principle, provide effective, low tech, easy to maintain, household water filters; combined with literacy, health and hygiene education for young mothers. This is helping to break the cycle of disease and poverty.  Newport County Community Menal Health Center Newport County Community Menal Health Center is an organization of people, programs and services that is available to children, adolescents and adults who may be experiencing problems with mental illness, substance abuse or stress in living.  We welcome your call for information or assistance.
